No. You can only add commands to busybox by recompiling.
However, it is quite possible to use external commands from busybox.

There are a couple package managers available if you are willing to recompile
busybox:
-rpm (not sure this one works) and the related tool rpm2cpio
-dpkg (this works) and the related tool dpkg-deb

opkg and apk are *external* package managers that are sometimes used *with*
busybox; opkg is the OpenWRT package manager (also used for some Android
and Docker projects), and apk is the Alpine Linux package manager.
Either one is fairly small and can be added without recompiling busybox.
