Specifically: any kind of _death_, whether caused by a signal
or not, will give svlogd an EOF.  (Plenty of signals don't
necessarily cause death, for example.)  Unless somebody else
has pipe[1] open.  The famous bug is to leave a copy in the
reader, in which case it'll hang around forever.
