So the cygwin guys disabled static linking to avoid widespread license 
violations on the windows platform.  Sigh.  The solution merely the next set 
of problems.  One more layer of workarounds for the workarounds for the 
workarounds.  It's workarounds all the way down... *

Still, "Windows has chronic problems, lets make them BusyBox's problem" 
doesn't logically follow for me.  Yes, Windows development sucks.  That's why 
I really don't want to get any of it on me.

Denys may have a different opinion, and his is the one that matters, but I 
advise against us going there.
