Subject: busybox ifupdown doesnt bring down interface that udhcp is on

Hi,

I am using snapgear uclinux, with built in busybox 1.0.0. I know this
version is about 2 years old, but it doesn't seem easy to change the
version.

I am having a problem using ifupdown with the ip route2 package,
specifically I cannot make ifdown -a take down an interface that is running
udhcpc.

When I run ifdown -a I can see that it tries to take down all the interfaces
and it even runs the script in if-down.d after the interface in question,
but then doing an ip addr show confirms the interface is still up. Doing an
additional ifdown -a succeeds in taking down all interfaces properly, but
this would create other problems for me.

I searched the internet and the mailing list for this problem, but couldn't
find it. I am sure it has been addressed though.

Is there a patch or something that I can use to get around having to upgrade
my full version of busybox, or has this even been fixed in 1.2? Possibly,
this isn't even a bug, but is intended, and if so how can I take down that
interface?

Thanks for any help!

Joel Lindsay
