Hi,
I applogize in advance if this topic has been 
discussed before, however I think I have tried
many of the previously given suggestions (as far
as time allowed me to go back on the mailing list)
and none seemed to work for me. 

I've been trying to bring up kernel 2.6.10 on an
arm/xscale (ixp2800) platfrom. I first got the kernel 
to come up, I then used buildroot/uclibc/busybox 1.0
to get the /sbin/init started. However, I'm not able
to login. With busybox everything is pretty much out
ot the box except for /etc/inittab. I have 2 different
versions of it and neither seemed to work:

version #1:

# Set up a couple of getty's
#tty1::respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty1
#tty2::respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty2

# Put a getty on the serial port
#ttyS0::respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 115200 vt100
ttyS0::once:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 9600 vt100
.
.
In this case, I type "root" at "uclibc login:" and
it causes everything to hang

version #2:
.
.
# Set up a couple of getty's

This causes the login shell to respawn over and over.

My command line to kernel looks like this:
CONFIG_CMDLINE="console=ttyS0 root=/dev/ram
initrd=0x02800000,0x00800000 mem=64M rw nohalt"

These are all new to me so I'd appreciate any help I
can get on this.
