Hi,

it seems that the current modprobe from CVS does not pass module 
parameters correctly to insmod. insmod itself works fine with module 
parameters. It does not matter if the module is listed in 
/lib/modules/.../modules.dep or not.

I did my tests on a PowerPC platform (kernel 2.4.21, glibc 2.2.5).

I am not sure if this is the same issue as it has been reported on the 
list some days ago.

Any idea?
