Hello,

If i run "top" and watch the memory usage while tail -f is running
free memory decreases about 4kb every 7 seconds while buffers is increasing
about that amount. Cache size stays at the same value all the time.

Does this mean tail -f has a memory leak?
As far as i know is cached memory some kind of preallocated but free memory.
So it has to be added to the free amount.
But what about buffers? Does it reflect used or free memory?

Christoph
