A while ago it wasnt acting on the failure to remove the dir, when i
consolidated all the unlink statements it did.

Ive changed it now so it doesnt try and unlink if its a directory, it
will still change its mode and permissions, so it should solve the
problem.

Implementing a recursive unlink could lead to lots of problems unless it
did lots of checks and restricted the unlink path.
