I managed to it to compile with various hacking out of code which can be
seen at:

    http://www.bleb.org/software/busybox-unstable.patch

The patch isn't suitable for general use (various crypt functions won't
work) but may be a starting point if other people are having the same
problems. Personally, I think I'm going to look at uClibc instead ;-)
