Subject: [BusyBox] bug#1013: Split networking apps into a 'netkit-tiny'

Package: busybox
Version: 0.45
Severity: wishlist

All the networking apps currently in BusyBox should be split out into a
separate package (named perhaps 'netkit-tiny'?). This would remove the
following items from BusyBox: hostid, hostname, nc, nslookup, telnet, and ping.
nfs mounting and syslogd (when it supports network logging) should probably
remain in BusyBox.

Splitting things will 1) make configuration simpler 2) simplify the task of
auditing 'netkit-tiny' for security holes, and 3) separate functionality into
logical packages (the way tinylogin was split out).
