When a story isn't checked out to you, the UI shows a "View" link in the search
results.  The View page has only a "Return" button that brings you back to the
search results.  If you view a story, then decide you need to check it out, you
have to:

1) Search for story
2) View story
3) Return to search 
4) Check the "Checkout" box
5) Submit the form

Instead, there should be a "Checkout" button next to the "Return" button when
the story isn't checked out to someone else that would check it out to you and
send you straight to the edit page.
