Right now I'm using X509 v1 certificates created using java's keytool
for SSL connexions, and BC's X509 v3 certificates for S/MIME.
Is there any way to consolidate the two so that I have only ony way to
create certificates ? 

Certificate created using BC fail to be used as SSL certificates (using
java.net.ssl) as they produce a MAC handshake error, and the keytool's
certificates don't work in S/MIME (Outlook tells me so).

Anybody had experiences with this ?
Is this the right place to ask ?
