I done it and i get the  same error .
maybe the problem that the gcc is version 2.96 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-113)?

That's a g++ error message saying that "exception handling [is]
disabled" and you need to add the command line switch "'-fexceptions'
to enable [it]" in the call to g++
