hi,
i have installed the latest version of bochs emulator
and have made file from dos boot disk as my virtual
a drive to boot from with bochs boot:a. this works
fine but once at a: prompt, i get unknown drive c
when i type c: . i checked bochs.out and there is
no indication that it could not find my 62M file which
was created with dd and which i know want to format
within the emulator. any ideas what the problem is ?

my actual goal is to use the emulator to monitor the
activity on the i/o port of a hardware device and
fabricate this device. all interaction with the device
is done through a single i/o port the address of which
is configurable by jumpers. i don't need to have the
device working under bochs (in fact, the device need
not be in the machine when running the program - i
want to make a virtual device emulating the piece of
hardware) how will one go about doing this.

is there any command-line switch help on bochs available ?
to start out with i might just ask the emulator to log
all writes/reads to a specific i/o port. how can i do this ?

regards
tiaan wessels
