hello,

before submitting a bug report or feature request, I would like to know if
anybody have a special reason to generate a panic rather than a simple hdd
error code.

I have accidently tried to write outside the current CHS values of the hdd
via I/O ports and received a nice panic message:

Event type: PANIC
Device: [HD   ]
Message: [HD   ] read sectors: out of bounds

Anybody know the reason why I don't simply get an ATA error code?
