I installed the beta "over" 1.9.25 and like yourself saw the 
different versions but had no other problems. Beta function 
wonderfully.

Removed beta and re-installed, security setting nervous. Then when 
tried to add trusted trusted addresses got the error messages.

So am back to 1.9.25 for now.
