different errors here -
1. in configuring the backtrace threshholds, it appears that these are now
limited (?) to value 0-9??? and you get an error when your original
settings are inherited.
2. Intermittent redline and message about no something-or-other- from
driver on startup.
Both of these observerd on system where 2.5.cp and previous versions had
been stable. going back to 2.5.cp because 2.9.cai is "dubious" in my opinion.
