Hi,
We are affacted by an issue(?) in binutils that leads to binaries
failing to link on mips/mipsel machines with the error:
[..] non-dynamic relocations refer to dynamic symbol [..]
You can find it at:
http://bugs.debian.org/517707 (specific for MOPAC 7)
http://bugs.debian.org/519006 (general for this issue)
We tried to follow the advice given in
http://lists.debian.org/debian-mips/2009/05/msg00028.html and added
-fPIC to CFLAGS and FFLAGS. The build of mopac7 still fails with the
same error:
| /usr/bin/ld: non-dynamic relocations refer to dynamic symbol atomic_
| /usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: Bad value
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/debichem-devel/2009-November/002153.html
https://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=mopac7;ver=1.15-1;arch=mips;stamp=1259067490
This issue is also mentioned at
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10144.
We ran out of ideas. So I appreciate any feedback helping to solve this
issue.
TIA and regards, Daniel
