        Thanks--unless someone from ISC disagrees, I'll assume that my 
supposition ($GENERATE supports PTR, NS, CNAME, A and AAAA RR types) is

I'm testing bind 9.1.0 and $GENERATE works great for glue(A) records.
I've set up 12 sub-neted /32's and its good to go.
(as well as PTR's.  Have not tried CNAME.
