I found the URL on the openldap-software list just a few minutes later,
but I know that many with me have been waiting/hoping/dreaming about
a LDAP driver for bind for more than a year. 

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! (I can't thank you enough :)

Now, I just have to wait for a) a machine to try out Bind9 and b) Bind9
becoming stable enough for public consumtion (from what I can tell, it's
not quite there yet?)...

Thanx so much for doing this. I'll have a closer look at it 'any day now' :)
