Because the old method required that Nodes register their resource files 
in Init().  This works, but also places pure presentation logic in the 
wrong place.  I'm looking for a solution similar to the outputfilter 
method, where templates can use a smarty plugin to register there 
resources as strings.

<style>
td#foo {color:#000;}
</style>
{/resource}

This is a perfect way to handle resources, aside from the fact it 
doesn't work currently outside a single top node tree. :\
