Summary: Cannot backup "mounted" partitions (partitions
without a driveletter)
Description:
When having mounted partitions on a Win2k3-Server I'm not able to backup
files within these partitions (independend from setting of "onefs").
When adding directly a file within these partitions backup works fine.
This behaviour is new in any 2.2.x version, old version 1.38.x did backup
every file (also independend from setting of "onefs").

Please try using the BETA version that I have uploaded to:

http://www.bacula.org/downloads/winbacula-2.2.9-1.exe

and

http://www.bacula.org/downloads/winbacula-2.2.9-1.exe.sig

Please note, there are multiple test versions in the download directory,
so please take care to select the one I note above -- also the directory
does not permit listing, so you must request the specific files.

This code should distinguish between a reparse point and a mount point,
and hopefully it will handle it correctly.

Your feedback would be appreciated.

Sorry, but also this version doesn't work (with "onefs = No" set).
Errormessage in director is now:
21-Mar 11:00 atpcc72c-fd JobId 53379: Could not stat D:/: ERR=The
system cannot find the file specified.

also if I specify the first mount-point in Fileset I get the same "cannot
find..." message:
21-Mar 11:03 atpcc72c-fd JobId 53380: Could not stat D:/SMC/: ERR=The
system cannot find the file specified.

sorry for having only that bad news...

switched back now to 1.38.10 which works for me.

Groan, the Win32 APIs are much more complicated than I had originally
imagine. I had to make a few more tweaks to the code. I hop that the
latest version that I posted this morning in:

 http://www.bacula.org/downloads/winbacula-2.2.9.exe

and

 http://www.bacula.org/downloads/winbacula-2.2.9.exe.sig

will resolve the problem. Please note, the name is different from the
previous test version I posted. This is the BETA release candidate for
version 2.2.9, and I would appreciate you testing it *very* much.

As previously, please keep a 1.38.10 version that you can switch back to
in case of problems.

Hello Kern,

same behaviour than before:
22-Mar 13:59 atpcc72c-fd JobId 53449: Generate VSS snapshots. Driver="VSS
Win 2003", Drive(s)="D"
22-Mar 13:59 atpcc72c-fd JobId 53449: Could not stat D:/OTHER
SHARES/: ERR=The system cannot find the file specified.
22-Mar 13:59 atpcc72c-fd JobId 53449: Could not stat D:/SMC/: ERR=The
system cannot find the file specified.

the funny thing is that "OTHER SHARES" is NOT a mounted partition and it
also
will not be backuped...

what can I do to send better information? traces? how to debug?
christian

p.s.: next information will be possible at tuesday...

Hello, OK for Tue -- it is Easter weekend :-)

Thanks for the quick testing, and for including the exact error
conditions. That helps me a lot to know exactly where things are going
wrong. I'll look at the code some more, and perhaps try mounting something
on my Vista machine (a bit of a pain ...). Hopefully, by Tue I will have
something that works ...

Can you please test this with Bacula 2.2.9-b3? Thanks. See the Win32-beta
release area of Source Forge.

Sorry for the delay.... I was out of office the last days as I had another
SUN certification exam.

I tried now the b3 of winbacula and now it at least works the same way my
old 1.38.x version does:

independent of setting of "OneFS" it always walkes through the complete
directory-tree...

ups... sent comment too early....

my first checks were only done with the "estimate" command which shows
60000 files to be backed-up for next job (for both settings of OneFS).

but when i run the job now no files were backed up !!! (and no
error-message)
