Dear All !

i also encountered this problem :)

after fiddling around with the mailinglist archives and the sources for 2 days
i found out that byHostname as a dso only works if:

apache is complied without --enable_rule=SHARED_CORE and backhand
compiled in (--disable-shared=backhand)

otherwise the serverstats structure points to 0 and this of course yields to the
segfault :-)

if everything is compiled in it works as expected.

if you put byHostname in the builtins it also works with mod_backhand as a dso.

i also fiddled around with the module load order and sometimes it was working %-)

well another side effect is that mod_backhand hangs if it is compiled in after
trying to restart apache graceful ... any hints on this ????

if its loaded as a dso this works fine and sets the number free/available servers
correctly.

hope this helps someone ...

greets,
marcus.
