Hi!

Has anyone got 2.2.0-pre9 successfully to boot on an XLT? ;-)

I've just given this kernel version a try on an XLT. The boot process
hangs right after the "-------" line printed out by MILO. I've tried both
building a generic kernel and a kernel for XLT/Alcor. Unfortunately none
of them booted.

Here is the setup:

XLT @ 300MHz

System: RHL 5.0 (well, basically... ;-))

gcc: 2.7.2.3

binutils: 2.9.1.0.19a

Milo says "Built against kernel 2.0.35"

AlphaBios Version 5.30

Contents of "/proc/cpuinfo" (as reported when running 2.0.33):

BTW: I've been testing the generic Alpha-Linux kernel that has been
provided by Richard Henderson a few months ago (based on 2.1.x sources),
and this kernel has worked fine.

I'd be happy for any clues on how to solve this issue. Please let me
know if more information is needed in order to track down the problem.

     Thanks

     Christian
