included only the error message itself.  Having the entire logfile is
all good, but if you could attach it instead of inlining all of it
there might be more people willing to read your post.

But once again, try linux-ide ;).

I can also recommend that you download Maxtor's PowerMax utility and
add it to your GRUB / LILO menu.  Testing all your disks with PowerMax
should give you reasonable reassurance that your drives, cabling and
controller are OK.
