Git actually has some of this functionality built in.

Try adding to your ~/.gitconfig :

[alias]
        lol = log --graph --decorate --pretty=oneline --abbrev-commit


With this, 'git lol' instead of 'git log' gixes you a commits graph with
all the branch heads and tags visible.
