Two kind people have pointed out that:
 
command 2>&1 | command
 
should work, and it does.
 
Don't know why I didn't think of this     (or if I did, I must have mis-typed it, originally).

I used to think this must be possible, but I haven't found a way that works:
 
Can I get the stderr from one commend into the stdin of another, in the ksh93 environment?
 
e.g.  somecommand | someothercommand
 
where both fd1 and fd2 output goes to stdin of someothercommand.
 
 
I thought that:
 
exec 2>&1     
 
...beforehand, might do the trick, but apparently not.
 
Am I missing something obvious, or is it not possible?
