I am lousy speller and tired of ispell not being able second
guessme. So, when I found out about aspell (from www.freshmeat.net) I
decided to give it a try.
Anyway, I compiled and installed it. However, after following the in
the install notes I still can't it to replace ispell.
Actually I did was add this line to my .emacs file (as well as making
sure that any of my custom setting where overriding it.)
;; try out aspell instead of ispell
(setq-default ispell-program-name "aspell")
Note: I can type aspell from a prompt and it runs.
I also tried putting aspell next to ispell in /usr/bin/
That didnt' work so I put it back in /usr/local/bin/ which is
obviously where I wanted it anyway.
Thanks spencer
