Lisa,
in <path>/httpd-test/flood/Makefile
I did the following
APR_OSDIR=/usr/local/src/httpd-2.0/srclib/apr/include/arch/unix
EXTRA_LDFLAGS=
EXTRA_CPPFLAGS= -I${APR_OSDIR}
EXTRA_CFLAGS=-g -O2
EXTRA_LIBS= -lcrypt -lpthread -ldl
on the last line above I added -lcrypt -lpthread and -ldl
then I type make all and everything worked great.
