openssl rsa -in privkey.pem -out new.cert.key
chown root:root new.cert.key
chmod 400 new.cert.key

This actually isn't all that much to worry about for a non-wildcard cert, if you
don't have hackers routinely logging onto your server and getting root access that
is.
