I'm recently (as of today) in a position to trouble shoot this....

NetBSD 3.0 encouters a SIMILAR problem.
OpenBSD 3.4 DOES NOT.
  I had a CD laying around. I didn't have 3.9. Nope, can't install 3.9 using a 3.4 \
cd *sigh*. I supposed I'll have download, make iso, burn, and re-install.

FYI, openbsd 3.4 is ORDERS of magnitude (500x) slower then NetBSD 3.0.
2 different physical boxes, but IDENTICAL hardware.

both NFS mounted the SRC and OBJ dirs from the same NFS server. They were not running
at the same time.

500MHz
320MB RAM
6.4GB ATA disk

Both ran the identical installation scripts.

NetBSD finished in about 2 hours for perl,httpd,mod_perl,apreq
though the apreq compile failed. *sigh*

OpenBSD has been running since yesterday and is still, but it it just now got passed \
the apr-ext/* make test phase of mp2.

take that benchmark with a grain of salt....... *shrug*
