Yea, saw that link and others on the subject. Adding the port in Network
Places address did the trick and it now works well for me.
Unfortubately, I get mixed results with other users' Windows XP. Some
can login but they don't get the EDIT option when they right click a
file and others can't even get to the WebDav Login prompt. They are all
Windows XP Pro SP2 clients but I am guessing the problem has to do with
possibly different versions of underlying WebDav files or perhaps it's
because some don't have MS Office installed. Either way, WebDav is
working for many and I am sure I can work out the lingering issues
eventually. Thanx to all for the valuable help. Especially the dude who
gave me the following link the made sense of this mess....

Chris
I'm coming in late to this, but have you tried appending the port number
to
the url?
If you haven't already found it, take a look at here:

dav.
html
It helped me with this problem.

Todd

Yes, you are right it does send domain\username. Is there a way to work
around this?

IIRC this is due to XP's behaviour. It sends DOMAIN\username instead
username only.
Can you verify that?
