cgi script just hangs at end, then apr_bucket_read error

I had same problem going from 1.3.26 to 2.0.47.  I have a perl CGI script that 
talks to MySQL -- queries that returned a lot of data starting hanging after 
moving from Apache 1.x to 2.x.  I changed the begining of the script 
from "perl -w" to "perl -X" and all problems ceased...
