After having given this offer some thought, I must decline for the moment.

Also, as was observed by someone else, it isn't really the time to actually implement \
this functionality.  I simply wanted to raise the point that, given that continuity \
from one version of a 'build language' to the next is a desirable, the prospect of a \
distributed Ant would be something to keep in mind when proposing 'language changes'.

It might also pay to observe, in this debate, that if you're talking about designing \
a language, most (all?) successful artificial languages came from high theoretical \
grounds, with grammars and datatypes and the like.  A language is one thing that is \
not likely to evolve very usefully, ( just look at English :-) .

I have yet to see people talking outside of the context of the simple constructions \
of 'target' and 'task'.

What about 'dependency', or 'buildstate'?  Is it possible to profile a given tool in \
terms of the number/type of its output given it's input?

Maybe Ant2 is not the place for these sorts of questions though.
