Your test snippet of code below reports "c = 0" on SunOS 4.1.3_U1
using both gcc and cc compilers. It returns "c = 4294967295" as
expected
on SunOS 5.X.
Attached is some old GNU C library code that provides the
strtoul(), strtol(), and strerror() functions. Perhaps these can be
used as the replacements.
I agree that the code should be cleaned up by adding the missing
functions for systems that need it. The only reason I added all of the
additional HAVE_STRERROR stuff was because this was already done in
other
parts of the am-utils code including these files:
amq/amq.c
hlfsd/hlfsd.c
libamu/xutil.c
