Subject:    [AMaViS-user] SA 3.1.0 compatible with older amavisd-new?

We have four servers running amavisd-new + spamassassin:

amavisd-new 2.2.0 + SpamAssassin 3.02
amavisd-new 2.2.1 + SpamAssassin 3.02
amavisd-new-20030616-p8a + SpamAssassin 2.63
amavisd-new-20030616-p8a + SpamAssassin 2.63

1. Are any of these amavisd versions incompatible with SA 3.1.0?

(Would like to upgrade all to SA 3.1.0 without touching amavisd-new.
 Would rather not have to diff/rewrite amavisd.conf.)

2. If they are compatible, is this the correct upgrade procedure?

1. stop amavisd-new
2. run "sa-learn --rebuild" to sync your journal
3. upgrade SA to 3.1.0
4. update /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf
5. run "sa-learn --sync" to upgrade the db format
6. run "sa-learn --dump" to make sure the data looks valid
7. start amavisd-new & check logs
