Hey,

the question is: *when* do you call TrayIcon::iconPixmap()?

iconPixmap() belongs to KStatusNotifierItem (the base class) and is likely 
invalid until a pixmap has been set by any of the 
KStatusNotifierItem::setPixmap* functions.
