I've done some work to narrow it down.  This is the only condition under which
I can reliably reproduce the issue:

Have Phonon set to prefer my headset for output.  Have a song paused in Amarok
(not stopped).  "Resume playback on start" is not checked.  Launch Mumble. 
Close Mumble.

The song will then play.

The issue does not appear if my soundcard is the preferred output, or if the
song in Amarok is stopped.

(Again, I apologise for my initial inaccurate report; I will be more thorough
before submitting future bugs)
