That option never existed in a recent Amarok version, are you sure you do not
remember from 1.4.x times?

The current button allows to save a playlist either to the database or to the
disk, and by default the playlist name has the date and time in it, I can't
recall an option to overwrite an existing playlist in Amarok 2.x
