Ok, checked it. So for clarification:

The pulsating entry in the toolbar (artist -> title -> blafoo -> artist -> ...)
- what this was once somehow assigned to - behaves as expected and causes zero
overhead (cross checked with the slim toolbar)

What causes massive repaints and all overhead is the pulsating of  the current
title in the playlist which repaints as fast as possible (for whatever reason -
i don't really see any update)
