It could be as simple as adding a toggle button to the current lyrics toolbar.

Personally, I disabled lyric checking as I didn't want to constantly tax
whichever lyrics servers were gracious enough to provide free services.
Especially when Amarok is running invisibly in the background, and playing
through thousands of songs per year.
