I found out more:

If I am just dropping one folder (with many files in it) on the playlist,
amarok takes a minute, but then the playlist is filled without freezing my X11
.
If I am inside the folder and select all content - which is the same amount of
files - and drop the selection on the playlist, X11 freezes for long time -
sometimes an hour, sometimes I have to restart my computer.  
See the uploaded photo, then you have an imagination why.

Why are there so many copy dialogs necessary?
