Summary: Unspecific error message if lyrics are not found
Product: amarok
Version: unspecified
Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist@kde.org
ReportedBy: bartoschek@gmx.de
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs
Amarok gives me the following message when the lyrics are not found for a
Beethoven symphony:
"Lyrics not found. Please check your internet connection and make sure that
title and artist tags are present and spelled correctly."
This message is too unspecific. It should mention only the correct problem:
1. The internet connection can easily be checked. And if Amarok has asked a
lyrics server it knows whether there is not a relevant answer or whether no
connection was available.
2. Amarok knows whether there are tags for title or artist. It is not necessary
to mention this if they are present. In my case both tags are filled.
3. Amarok can print the title and artist strings that are sent to the server to
check it directly from the message.
