This is solved already in 2.2-SVN, thank you for your report.

As a workaround: try removing the database located in
~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/ (make a backup first, eventually), then start
Amarok again and rebuild the database.

Also, there has been a bugfix release, 2.1.1, that is available in Kubuntu,
please refer to http://kubuntu.org for more details.
