Summary: Amarok2 takes several CPU-intensive seconds to start
           Product: amarok
           Version: 2.0.1
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist@kde.org
        ReportedBy: diwaker.lists@gmail.com

Version: 2.0.1 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-11-generic

I'm running Amarok 2.0.1.1 using packages for Kubuntu Intrepid. When I start
Amarok, it takes several seconds (somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds) before
it becomes responsive and usable. During that time, the Amarok process is
consuming between 60 and 90% of the CPU. I will try to get an strace of what it
is doing during that time. My music collection is reasonably large (15G) but
nothing that Amarok with embedded MySQL should not be able to handle.

Note that this happens even if I have an empty playlist to begin with. Such a
long startup time I think would be unacceptable for most users.
