Summary: Improper handling of question mark in RSS feed
Product: amarok
Version: 1.4.9.1
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist kde org
ReportedBy: jgamage gmail com
Version: 1.4.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Compiler: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux
I've been subscribing to the PRI Fair Game podcast for a while now, but they've \
changed their RSS feed a little bit and Amarok can no longer handle the podcast \
properly.
The podcast XML feed is here:
http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/fairgame/podcasts/2743.xml
All of the mp3 files download to a filename called "QuerySplicedItemContent". I \
believe that the actual filename is something like this:
QuerySplicedItemContent?file_name=vc_6fb16ac345bc8cb5d2a85d9250b422ea.ver_1.videosdyn1 \
.mp3&case_number=6fb16ac345bc8cb5d2a85d9250b422ea.mp3&llnw_original_url=http%3A%2F%2Fs \
tream-ai.publicbroadcasting.net%2Fproduction%2Fmp3%2Ffairgame%2Flocal-fairgame-699677. \
mp3%3Fvolomedia_src_url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.publicbroadcasting.net%252Ffairgame%2 \
52F.jukebox%252Fmedia%252Ffairgame%252F699677%252Fmp3%252FfairGameSegs%252Fpodcast%252F2743%252F699677.mp3
Note the question mark in the query. Amarok seems to cut everything off past the \
question mark. Because of this, the file is downloaded as "QuerySplicedItemContent" \
and is marked as unplayable. If I rename the file to "foo.mp3", and re-associate the \
file to the downloaded podcast, it works just fine.
I believe that something might be wrong with the way that Amarok is fetching the \
files - why does it rename the mp3 this way? It could have something to do with the \
webserver, but I do believe that iTunes can handle the podcast just fine.
Thanks for your help,
Jake
