My entire collection has album artwork embedded ID3 tags.
Indeed, this is a HUGE advantage over other schemes, most notably stability and portability.

It is irrelevant to say that amarok uses artwork for albums, not for tracks. I see no legitimate reason \
why amarok not retreive its "album" artwork from the embedded tags, in particular by default in the case \
that no artwork has been set for the album by other means. The feature could be to extract (or offer to \
extract) artwork from the first track of an album with embedded artwork, or subsequent tracks if present.

My solution has been to organize my collection with the artwork for each album in a file "cover.jpg" \
and/or "cover.png" in the directory holding the track files. This works well with amarok. \
