Summary: amarokcollectionscanner crashes when rediscovering
collection
Product: amarok
Version: 1.4.8
Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist kde org
ReportedBy: fgenauer gmx de
Version: 1.4.8 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux
Some Infos about my system
- Debian unstale amd64
- KDE Version 3.5.8
- custom kernel 2.6.24
- amarok 1.4.8
When completely scanning my collection - the progressbar got stuck at about 97%... \
(No idea what the english translation is: in german this is: "Sammlung neu erfassen")
Digging deeper I could reproduce the problem as follows:
I mooved ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok and ~/.kde/share/.config/amarokrc away.
Prepared a local dir containing a single album I created from scratch with \
kaudiocreator for having clean tags.
Starting amarok and configured using the wizard to use this single dir and SQLite as \
database backend.
Amarok starts and the amarokcollectionscanner starts to scan - it gets stuck at 100%. \
Taking a look at the processlist directly after start I can see
amarokapp
\_ amarokcollectionscanner --nocrashhandler -p -r <mydir>
\_ ruby /usr/share/apps/amarok/scripts/score_default/score_default.rb
When the scanning progress bar get's stuck, amarokcollectionscanner is no longer in \
processlist.
So I tried with a little larger collection, and straced amarokcollectionscanner:
access("lastfileinmycollection.mp3", F_OK) = 0
write(1, "<dud/><compilation path=\"/home/f"..., 66) = 66
write(1, "</scanner>\n", 11) = 11
close(8) = 0
rt_sigaction(SIGCHLD, {SIG_DFL}, NULL, 8) = 0
close(6) = 0
close(7) = 0
write(3, "\1\v\1\0\1\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\202+\0\0", 16) = 16
close(3) = 0
close(4) = 0
close(5) = 0
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) ---
When comparing ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection_scan.files with the number of \
files I scanned it looks as if collection scanner really has finished reading all the \
files.
I both tried out using SQLite and mysql backend - but same behaviour. I don't have a \
glue what to test any further. _______________________________________________
