Summary: songs with Unicode characters can't be
transfered/listened and those characters are not
correctly shown
Product: amarok
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: DAAP
AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist kde org
ReportedBy: edulix gmail com
Version: amarok 1.4.8 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
I'm using amarok 2.5.8, and I'm sharing my collection via DAAP. When I enter my \
shared collection from other computer running amarok through the Devices tab, the \
songs which contain unicode characters (in the filename?), like á, ê, º are listed \
with blank rectangle characters replacing the odd ones. And when I try to \
listen/downlaod any of those songs, the transfer fails.
How to reproduce:
Try for example to download http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/179 and share it via \
daap. You don't need to have another amarok client to see the shared files, you will \
already see there's something wrong if you enter in Devices and take a look at the \
shared files you just downloaded from jamendo.
Expected behaviour:
The songs are correctly listed. The id3 tags are correctly shown in the daap share, \
and the songs can be listened and downloaded just like any other. \
