Summary: tree view smart ordering is only smart in english
Product: amarok
Version: unspecified
Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist kde org
ReportedBy: marc.fournier camptocamp com
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux
In the Collection Browser, when sorting my files by Tree View (and also by iPod \
View), I get for example "The Beatles" sorted under "B", "The Doors" under "D", etc. \
This is cool !
But most of my latin-music groups get sorted under "L": "Los Jaivas", "Les NĂ©gresses \
Vertes", "La Oreja de Van Gogh", etc.
By filtering out the following pronouns of the sort algorithm, you should cover most \
cases in french, spanish, italian, portuguese and german: le, la, les, los, las, o, \
il, el, die, das, der.
But probably one would want this feature in more than a few european languages...
CollectionView::manipulateThe() in collectionbrowser.cpp seems to have a TODO for \
this feature ;)
Is it possible to give a list or an array to the firt parameter of the startsWith() \
and endsWith() functions? I would suggest a patch if I knew C++, sorry :(
Anyway thanks a lot for the great work !
Marc
